Biography
Kate is a licensed professional counselor in Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin. She works with children, teens, and adults to address complex trauma, post traumatic stress, relationship concerns, identity exploration, suicidality, self-harm, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and OCD. She also enjoys helping people experiencing life transitions navigate the process of change.
Kate believes that many of our patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving make sense given our context and experiences. She encourages clients to explore both their past and present in order to better understand which patterns work for them and which they’d like to adjust. By tailoring interventions to each person’s strengths and interests, she helps clients build new skills and insights for managing life’s stressors.
Kate trusts in each person’s potential for growth and innate ability to recover from adversity. She believes that change happens within a collaborative relationship in which clients feel understood, supported, and challenged. Using warmth, authenticity, and humor, Kate builds a trusting space for clients to reflect and grow.
