Biography
Emily Kuyers is a counseling intern completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Western Michigan University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Grand Valley State University. She has completed Child Welfare Training and specialized training in Child Forensic Interviewing through the State of Michigan, preparing her to work with children in sensitive and challenging circumstances. A life-long Michigan resident, Emily is deeply committed to serving her community with compassion and integrity.
Her focus is on individual counseling with children and adolescents, with particular passion for working with youth in foster care and refugee populations. Emily is especially focused on providing care for those impacted by trauma, offering space for healing and growth.
Emily approaches counseling from a strengths-based and developmentally sensitive perspective, striving to create a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their identities, build confidence, and feel truly seen and heard.
