Biography
John Kamau Muthama is a Counselling Intern at Fountain Hill Center and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling at Calvin Theological Seminary.
He holds a Bachelor of Education from Laikipia University in Kenya and is passionate about supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of children, adolescents, and adults. His experience as a teacher has provided him with valuable insight into the challenges students face and the critical role that emotional and psychological support plays in their overall development and success.
John Believes that every client has a unique story, and within that story lies the potential for growth, resilience, and meaning. His counselling approach is grounded in empathy, active listening, and a genuine commitment to understanding each person’s experiences. Drawing inspiration from the principles of logotherapy, he is particularly passionate about helping individuals discover meaning amid life challenges, suffering and lift transitions.
John works with children, adolescents, adults, refugee communities, and individuals navigating loss and grief. His areas of special interest include trauma, grief, and bereavement, life transitions, and adjustment challenges, resilience building , and meaning making.
