Leigh Ellis, MA, LLPC

Leigh Ellis

Leigh Ellis received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Michigan University in April of 2018. She completed her internship at the Fountain Hill Center that same month and her bridging in September of 2017.

Counseling is Leigh’s passion, and particularly, removing the barriers that keep people from receiving the counseling they need. During her internship, she offered low- and no-fee counseling services to a wide variety of clients and provided in-school counseling services to Shelby Public Schools students, at no cost to students or their families. She feels thankful to have had this opportunity to work with historically under-served populations so early in her career, and remains committed to being a fully inclusive and culturally competent counselor.

Leigh’s model of therapy is interpersonal, psychodynamic, and person-centered. She takes a holistic approach in her counseling practice, and integrates mindfulness and body awareness into traditional talk therapy. She strives to provide a safe, empathic, and secure environment where clients of all ages can explore themselves, their feelings, and their relationships. She promotes wellness in all areas of life and has experience coordinating care with other wellness providers.
