Dan Schmidt, MA LLPC, is a limited licensed professional counselor as well as an ordained minister (non-denominational). Dan received an Associate of Arts in Leadership and Ministry from Grace Christian University as well as his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Cornerstone University. He has completed his Master of Arts in Counseling from Spring Arbor University.
Dan approaches counseling and coaching with a heart to walk with individuals and couples as they work to get unstuck, find healing, and find their path to living a fuller life. He believes that every person is unique, and, in our uniqueness, we sometimes need help getting unstuck. Dan served as a pastor for 7+ years and a prison ministry chaplain for 2+ years. Through pastoral care, Dan had spent considerable time walking with marriages, pre-marriages, and couples as they worked through various concerns. He has lead marriage enrichment, spiritual enrichment, and addiction groups. Dan also has experience working with individuals who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, stress, addiction, career guidance, spiritual issues, and difficulties with life transitions.
As a parent of a child with special needs, Dan also has a heart and understanding for the unique struggles parents and families face when caring for a member who has special needs. This experience along with his training provides him with an approach to counseling that clients find valuable and useful.
Dan also specializes in working with men, individually and in groups, who struggle with control and abuse issues in intimate relationships, sex addiction, substance abuse, parenting issues, stress and more.
As your counselor, Dan would work with you holistically and to walk with you on your journey. Dan will collaborate with you to achieve your goals in finding hope and healing.
Dan has worked with people in many different situations and would love to get to know the unique nature of your story.
