Yoga Therapy

In order for the cognitive processing involved in traditional talk therapy to be productive, we must first feel connected to ourselves and our sensations, and have some control over our emotions and reactions. For people who have experienced an accident, assault, or other type of trauma, this often isn’t the case. To treat issues like these, a somatic, or body-based, approach like yoga therapy is often more effective than talk-based therapies. Yoga therapy can also be a valuable addition for people already in talk-based therapy.

In addition to individual yoga therapy sessions, The Fountain Hill Center offers group yoga therapy and yoga therapy community classes and workshops. Registration for each program below is first-come, first-served. To register, please call (616) 456-1178 or email contact@fountainhillcenter.com.
