Positive Discipline – Parenting Program

Positive Discipline Series 2 - Parenting Workshops (updated)

Thanks to a generous grant from the Children’s Trust Fund of Michigan – Oceana County Local Council, The Fountain Hill Center will be offering free parenting classes, support groups, and workshops to Oceana County parents and caregivers throughout 2018.

Our current series of classes runs from June 5 through August 21 (with no class on Tuesday, July 3). Join Fountain Hill therapist Kimber Decker on Tuesdays, from 5–6:30 PM at the Diman-Wolf Early Childhood Center in Hart to:

  • explore why children and teens do what they do
  • share parenting tools that really work
  • practice parenting strategies that encourage healthy behaviors

This 7-week series will make use of the Positive Discipline curriculum, which values teaching important social and life skills in a manner that is deeply respectful and encouraging for both children and adults. Parenting with Positive Discipline means being kind and firm at the same time, an effective parenting strategy that helps children feel a connection — a sense of belonging and significance.
