Cara Kuipers, MA, LLPC

caraCara Kuipers is a Limited License Professional Counselor and Licensed School Counselor. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University and received her Master’s degree in Counseling Education from Western Michigan University. Cara is also a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator. Her experience has come from working with Children and Adolescents in residential treatment facilities, school settings, and the community.

Cara ‘s therapy types include play therapy, activity therapy, cognitive behavior therapy and person centered therapy. Cara specializes in working with children and adolescents in the school setting by providing individual and/or group therapy.  She is passionate about delivering quality services to children and adolescents.  Cara meets the individuals where they are at in their journey and assists in navigating them to where they want to be. Cara incorporates fun activities and learning experiences in her sessions to give clients a more hands on approach to counseling.

Cara is passionate about serving the at-risk population in schools and believes that everyone deserves quality mental health services regardless of demographics. Cara currently works with the Oceana population delivering counseling services at Diman Wolf Early Childhood Center and Pentwater Public Schools.

It helps parents get to the core of the child’s misbehavior, brings joy to the home, and gives parents a sense of accomplishment.
